Our client wanted something new for their front porch including a live edge bench. After repainting their front door, custom creating a live edge bench and adding a few accessories the front porch was more inviting to family & friends.
They were also looking for something that would make a statement in/on their living room wall. We created that look by using antique banker's shutters, accessorizing them with wreaths and tied the look together with items our clients already had. In addition we styled and furnished this space at the end of their staircase.
This was a new home purchase. We were asked to provide furniture and home decor with a specific request of making the space feel cozy, warm, and inviting. The living room is this client's favorite room in the whole house.
Our she shed project began with an idea from a picture we had seen in June 2021. We enlisted the help of our trusted Amish contact whom we’ve worked with on numerous other projects. They built the 10x12 shed complete with siding, roofing, back windows and upper windows. They framed out for the entry door and for the side window which we added ourselves. After delivering to our site pad, we began the inside renovations. We drywalled and painted three walls but chose to do a dry-stack stone on the front wall for an accent. We added two original oversized barn doors on the left side wall and chose a stunning gray electric fireplace for heat in cooler months. We added mushroom board to the ceiling for contrast. Barnwood shelving for accents. A tall corner potting bench combined with an open shelving table to hold planting materials completes the finished look.
This was a fun project for us and one that definitely was a conversation starter. We had seen this idea only using a antique buckboard wagon. One weekend while visiting the Adamstown antique markets, we discovered this antique sleigh. Although not a buckboard, we used the same concept and refinished it into a working grill/smoker. After several years of use, it then was moved to an area in the garden and became my potting station. It was only this past year due to a major perennial transplant that we decided to part ways and allow someone else to enjoy this as much as we have.
This client was looking to make her open concept living and dining areas feel warm and inviting in addition to giving the areas a new and refreshed look. We accomplished this by painting the outdated accent wall in the living room the same neutral color as the rest of the space. Next, we added mushroom board in her dining and foyer areas for accent walls. We were able to incorporate many of the clients own furniture pieces in addition to a few new pieces of furniture and décor items to enhance the overall appearance.
The master bedroom is probably our most favorite room that we have redone. This project began initially with the installation of our vintage shutters that we purchased at the Adamstown Flea Market. Originally intended for another project, they quickly became the perfect solution for "curtains" for the bedroom. After mounting a barn wood beam across the top of the windows, we attached the sliding track to the beam followed by the shutters. They slide to allow light in and close to keep the room dark and cool. In February of 2019 we began the full renovation of the master bedroom.
Reclaimed barn wood on the floor of the bedroom, mushroom board on the ceiling, new lighting installed, fresh coat of paint, dry stacked stone for two accent walls, a sitting area created by tearing out drywalled nook, widening the entry door from a single door to French doors. Styling with new furniture and home décor.
We were contacted by Good Samaritan of Ephrata and asked if we would consider staging their large gathering room in addition to the kitchen area with new furniture and home décor for the residents to enjoy. All of the furniture was provided by donors and donations and we were happy to donate our time to this project so these families could enjoy a warm, safe and inviting place to begin establishing their new journey.
Decorating for the holidays begins in August with the fall decorations coming out and staying out until Thanksgiving. By choosing neutral fall décor it is easy to leave out longer allowing me more time to enjoy. The Christmas decorations begin coming out no later than the end of October. This year we had 11 Christmas trees up throughout the home. I like to keep it simple and decorate with the white lights for all of the trees. Some trees will have some ornaments, while the majority just have the lights. It is one of my favorite holidays to decorate for.
